CHALLENGE
Data-Driven Learning Enriched by the Power of Storytelling.
eLearnology was contracted to develop a series of 7 modules to train all employees in this partnership across Ontario. E-QIP's mission was clear but challenging: equip community mental health and addiction agencies with the tools to scientifically assess and enhance the quality of care. The course content was complex, involving intricate statistical mathematics that professionals needed to master. Our challenge was to bridge the gap between data and understanding.
SOLUTION
Our approach was twofold. Firstly, we leveraged the power of visual learning. Using graphically rich images, animation, and expert voice-overs, we transformed intricate mathematical concepts into comprehensible narratives. We applied Mayer's principle of temporal contiguity, synchronizing images and narration to enhance comprehension.
Secondly, we wove the magic of storytelling into the fabric of the training. We introduced relatable characters and real-life case studies, enabling learners to apply their newfound knowledge to practical scenarios that held personal significance. This transformative blend of data-driven insights and practical application empowered mental health professionals to take a scientifically validated approach to quality improvement.
